Donut Operator runs just about the best bodycam channel on YouTube, and the dude is hilarious with a surprisingly deep knowledge of nerd terms. But most of his bodycams involve the perp dying

i grew up on Ogrish.com and 4chan and got concerned with human death and suffering not even phasing me anymore while watching all the Ukraine drone footage

Ya, same, grew up watching Rotten and Ogrish

I have a much harder time watching soldiers die, or even someone’s suicide, than some gangbanger career criminal who’s decided “I ain’t goin back to jail!” after doing something horrible again to someone and decides to then get in a shootout with police

Those are the times where I can listen to the sounds (since YouTube censorship requires blurring the sights) of someone dying without feeling a great deal of sympathy, although I do feel some. And taking that in occasionally might come in handy to make the sight of someone dying in front of me less disturbing if the shit ever hit the fan or if God forbid, I was in a life or death combat situation. I have already smelled a melting rotting human body a few years back in my job, so have that base covered as well

That’s what a lot of these autistic nerd edgelord wanna-be psycho killers don’t realize. A human is just another very large animal. And a very large animal can fight much harder for its life than some people think. And the noise and sights of a very large animal (that speaks English) dying is not at all like in the movies

yeah that's what freaks me out, ive never seen it personally, even in my life the bad shit always happens off screen and i just hear about it afterwards, i compartmentalize it, put it in it's nice little vanilla folder in my brain and try to never think about it again.

like someone committed suicide and instead of reading the unread text messages i received, i just deleted them

oh, i left that hotel room an hour before someone was murdered for their backpack of drugs? neat, let's never think about that again.

I just watched a string of 3 of these where the husband is like “W-w-why are you questioning me like you think I did something?”

And if I were the detectives, I would be so tempted to say “look man, like 9 times out of 10 this turns out to be the husband. Honestly, you should be thanking us that we’re even checking and not just locking you up to save everyone some time. Because chances are if we did, we’d be right”

not to straight up dox myself but i was in her class and grew up 2 blocks from where she was taken

turns out a piece of shit molesting his daughter who in turn molested me(i enjoyed it, lets be real but the age and age difference was pretty bad) was unrelated to the murder lol

when all the church stuff started coming out i was like "oh, guess that shit is common"

still, "do you enjoy this, it's how my dad likes it" is a fucked up core childhood memory to have lol.

That’s crazy, I dunno who that is though. Surprising, because I normally watch a lotta TruCrime stuff. Don’t need to seek it out though, I’m sure I’ll stumble on the story eventually

And yea when it comes to things like molestation, or any kind of trauma really, it’s all checked against someone’s individual resiliency. Some people can have fucked up things happen to them and it bounces off their psyche like water off a duck’s back. Other people it ruins the rest of their life. And every kind of response in between. Obvious stuff like age, support system are huge factors as well
