That picture is actually a month old. It hasn't healed like, at all, hence the reason I'm here.

I tripped down a staircase in my apartment complex. A cement staircase - that's why it's all roadrashy looking.

I was at the campus clinic two weeks ago. They cleaned it out really well (Lots of gravel and gross junk was trapped under the scabs / skin) and gave me some antibiotics for the infection that was starting. I was left with two wounds - pretty deep. Was told to just keep it wrapped and vasaline'd and that the antibiotics would do their thing. The antibiotics surely helped with the pain (The infection was causing so much pain that I couldn't even walk on it), and I was pain-free for about two weeks. Buuuuut about 3 days ago that pain started coming back. Seeing as these two wounds have not healed, like, at all + that same pain coming back, I figured the infection was coming back.

SO YESTERDAY, I had an appointment at 2pm at the campus clinic. The second I stepped my infected foot in there they pretty much said "gtfo to the ER". So I've been sitting here since three yesterday.

This is absurd. Entering hour 17.5.
Keep badgering them. The people at your ER are either extremely slammed with cases or totally incompetent.

How drunk were you that you tripped on concrete stairs and did not properly clean or disinfect the wound?

You said that pic was from a month ago, and the campus thing cleaned shit out two weeks ago, but honestly? HONESTLY? How drunk do you have to be to get gravel and dirt and shit in your wounds and not notice, or attempt to clean it out at any point.

Had the same happened to me, I would've thoroughly cleaned the area with water, then hydrogen peroxide or isopropyl alcohol, kept it dressed cleanly each day and made sure there was no infection.

They even sell triple antibiotic ointment at the stores, so honestly... How did you let it get that bad?

Not to be a dick, but it seems to me you did not take proper precautions after the incident and now you are paying for it with time spent in the ER. I mean, I guess it could be diabetes- but really, you shoulda kept that shit on lock. If you can't get antibiotics prescribed to you- I can tell you this, all Thompson Labs fish antibiotics are human antibiotics repackaged. So just order those up, it's super cheap off Amazon and the shipping is quick.

...but honestly, for it to be that bad then, then for them to clean it weeks after, and it get worse- I mean, you obviously neglected yourself for whatever reason. When you get road rash or some crazy wound you need to clean it, even if it means cutting away skin with a razorblade to make sure you get any foreign particles out.

At very least, disinfect it each day with whatever.

I can provide links to two very informative books that are free upon request, 'When there is no doctor', and, 'When there is no dentist'

There is no reason to let an infection get that bad ever, we've had antibiotics for over a hundred years now and they've saved countless lives.

If they can't help, then yeah- stop doing crocodile or snorting coke cut with animal dewormer.
