played a couple hours while visiting a friend who had two machines and two accounts. Didn't see any compelling reason to switch.

Played Darkfall during beta -that was fun, but not enough to get into the game

I tried it but I didn't inhale. I did not have sex with that game, WOW.

or "I played it for half an hour and I know it sucks"

That's like saying I played EverQuest for half an hour. All I got was some lame tunic and a rusty dagger, what a shitty game...

Playing to me would be getting past the easy levels and starting to work hard at your equipment and toon. Maybe I should of phrased it 'I tried WoW but just didn't like it - am I the only person?'.

Except for all the times you played it, you never did.

I never did, too scared from the addiction eq became!

I never played it except for the brief period from early beta to 6 months ago. I had 7 lvl 80's and 3 lvl 85's when i stopped so I cant really comment too much on the gameplay.

Wow sucks...Vanguard on the other hand...oh what a game that was...wish they would make it F2P!

Vanguard is the best game I've ever played. The pre-order pre-live week til May really was EQ incarnate with modern graphics.. then they absolutely bailed on it for reasons I dont care to know.

I also loved VG. Playing it was like coming home again, even though it had terrible bugs when I started. Eventually, it reached a point where it was pretty playable on a decent machine and then it was really a very very good game. Had it been properly itemized, it might have been even better than EQ. The graphics were stunning. I had a screenshot from VG on my desktop and a cable guy saw it and said, oh, where's that picture from? He thought it was real.

Eventually however, just like EQ, SOE had to ruin it. They put a muscle-minded tank-brain named "Silius" in charge, who championed the dumbing down and ruination of what COULD have been the greatest game ever created. SOE has no soul, no class and no good games left.

As for WoW, I played it for two years and enjoyed it, although I had to put up with a heavy PVP presence which I hate, and the cartoony graphical style of the game which makes me grit my teeth. Though I grew tired of the increasing simplicity, I left primarily because of the young player base. OOC was always filled with things like, "I'm so drunk right now", "I like boobies", "gotta go have a smoke", "I like sex", "gotta fire up a bowl" and so on, ad nauseum.

I only played on a friend's account for a bit. But never bought it or registered an account.

I was just quitting EverQuest when Wow was coming out and I did not want to get hooked on another mmorpg. I was about to enter college and I knew i could not balance playing an mmorpg with my stoodyin and at the same time have a social life. I'm really happy with my decision.

Death gripping mobs as a death knight tank is one of the coolest things in a MMO. Tanking in general is pretty awesome in WoW, very involved and requires a lot of situational skills and reaction time.
