![]() I played eq2 at launch, what a piece of shit. Had to stay logged on the board to auction (buy another account sucker) you could pwn yourself in the face while crafting planks and lose an hour or two of combat xp. Decided to try this mmo with a weird fucking name 2 months later (wow) and never looked back.
Cant even remember if there was pvp servers at launch. If there was im pretty sure i would have rolled on one but my memory is just pve. Wow pvp was instantly heads and shoulders above eq pvp, even though now i appreciate all things retro more. Just something about wow pvp that works, where a lvl 27 can still significantly contribute to a higher level fight.

![]() I played EQ2 in the 2015 era, although i agree with some of the comments about the games clunky-ness is how to get over I would also argue EQ has a degree of clunkynness and therefor EQ2 should be right down your alley. When I played the game is was actually the last year before Sony sold the IP to Daybreak, and I must really say. EQ2 is a really good game and I kind of wish they have a project1999 version of EQ2. All players can get special spells/abilities based on their deity, you can build your own house and it had enjoyable instances that added to the lore, unlike dungeons of norrath instances which was a mindless boring grindfest. I think the idea of a PVP server on EQ2 is kinda dumb however; I'm just making the argument that the game was actually good when you got over the hurdle of newbies stages of the game simular to EQ. EQ2 was like diablo2 mixed with Everquest and it was awesome.

![]() EQ2 PvP on Nagafen was pretty sweet, the graphics haven't aged well unfortunately.

![]() I am high skeptical but I bet I would have fun if I had the time despite it obviously being worse than eq1 in almost every way.

![]() It really sucks that the character models for EQ2 were really terrible, as the actual world was pretty damn beautiful.
EQ2 pvp is really fun, though. I had a level locked 30s rogue (Brigand) for many months. Also had pvp gear/titles that made pvp a bit more meaningful.
