yes its fine to spend money on a hobby, but spending RL cash to buy something that suppose to obtained via process of PLAYING, eliminates entire purpose of actualy playing. Its equalent to - you playing a game of monopoly with your friends, and you say - "ok guys, i will give each of you $5, and you declare me a winner..." Yeah you can do that - but then there is no point of playing what so ever. You may very well just look at your EQ CD disk and announce to yourself- "I came, I saw, I conquered" and put it back into a box. You have won.

![]() I'm not sure if I've run into these people, but it seems like I have... level 35-40 Shadowknights who have no idea how to keep aggro, Monks who don't know how to Feign Death. The list goes on and on and on, it's really sad actually.
Theoretically, if you had enough money to powerlevel you to thirties, you would at least have some idea about simple game mechanics. Although, I did run into a Monk who said his sister gave him 250,000, he was around level 20 with all the best possible gear, and had no idea what he was doing.

![]() Easy fix, MySQL query to toon with max plat and toon with max level on the same account, and interrogate those people with seriously misaligned results. Although, now that I look at this, it looks Nazi-esque.

![]() I am bored . . . .
Money Laundering on P99 is a dirty business. Lesson 1 - business of banks (bob) "farmer" rmts pp to "buyer" 'farmer' gives pp to 'ecunnel tunnel escrow trader' (for lack of a better acronym lets call this "bob") "farmer" tells "bob" brb on "buyer" "buyer" collects pp from "bob" Lesson 2 - the sleeper cell "farmer" creates new account with char called "100kplat" "farmer" transfers 100k pp to "100kplat" (using bob or a trusted and unsuspecting friend to transfer pp) "100kplat" sleeps for a month "farmer" rmts pp to "buyer" "farmer" delivers pp by providing account info of "100kplat" to "buyer" Lesson 3 - the EC rip off "farmer" rmts 10k plat to "buyer" "farmer" tells "buyer" to meet in EC Tunnel and auction a random 1k item. "buyer" auctions WTS - Diamond "farmer" tell "buyer" i will buy your diamond. "buyer" replies 11k @ T1. "farmer" puts 11k in trade window, "buyer" puts diamond in window and hits trade. You can put in as middle men into these transaction as you have the time for. further diluting the pp trail. all the time using various ip proxies. you can break up the pp denominations of tranfers as well. since i doubt "bobs" have any reporting requirements when people dump plat for transfers.

![]() Just for anyone who thinks they're slick trying to mask IP (use a different computer remotely otherwise) GMs can see juuuust a lil more than your character's name on a /who... you'll get caught. When the plat farmer gets caught a pretty quick'n' easy control+F thru logs ensues. All of the plat they have goes with them, farmed by grinding or trading, all of it, gone.
It's more than spending money on your hobby, it's encouraging people who don't sleep/Chinese prisoners to completely over inflate the economy.

![]() Yeah it did, I briefly met the acquaintance of a guy who made money off of said exploit. Came out to about 45k a year. Not exactly "boats and hoes, boats and hoes" but given how hard his "work day" was... worth it.
