you're conflating community colleges (traditional 2 year schools) with for-profit "universities" i think (DeVry, University of Phoenix, and many others)

the first is acceptable for people without the means, adult students, and people who are 'restarting.' the second is unacceptable as it is based upon predatory lending practices with ridiculous repayment schemes and prey upon people who believe their ridiculous sales pitches they hear from 'enrollment' officers (sales people).
