Downplaying it was the right move as he knew it would take a year for a vaccine and there is NOTHING you can do to slow the spread, earth is too populated.

Panic = hoarding and 10x more crime

Please explain how we slowed the spread when masks clearly dont help ( Microscopic Bacteria )

took 1 year for vaccine and immune cocktails only available for our people who make billions of dollars, average asshole might get a remdesevir pill which shaves 2 or 3 days off covid?

Infection rate through the roof, california had 30k cases 1 day this week, FL is back near 10k cases almost everyday

i hear ambulances every 15 mins again

what has been done?

LOL

Just look at EVERY OTHER COUNTRY

Look at USA. The one who said masks dont work, its a democratic hoax, its no worse than the flu, its just a cold.

New Zealand is pretty much over it, no cases. How can that be??

Oh their people give a shit about each other?? Ah... I guess that makes all the difference.

While I agree basic hygiene, and precautionary steps, are effective, US to NZ is a bit of an apples to kiwis comparison.

NZ doesn't have these huge megacities that the US does. Such large collections of people forced into such close contact with so many other people is a perfect incubator for respiratory infections.

There's more to it that "NZ smart, US dumb" and not just the above example.

Doesnt matter. They have cars. They have planes. They have mouths. They have lungs. Some how, they eradicated it. Christchurch is a bigass city. People living very close to one another in slums to high rises. Not one case... They had a lot of cases, but they all agreed that science is real.. Thats all it came down to.

100%. That, and a population that doesn't have a third-grader's understanding of what "freedom" and "liberty" mean.

This is ridiculous. I'm sure they have lots of cases of tons of other highly transmissible respiratory diseases that kill almost nobody, the statistics of which you are simply not privy to.

Please, for the love of god, can people on both sides of this debate stop envoking "science being real" as some kind of lazy catch-all gotcha? It's completely retarded. Science is *usually wrong*. The whole point of the scientific method is to widdle down the results of experimentation over decades until we can conclude what is likely true, most of the time, based on evidence and research. The vast majority of scientific theories are wrong, we have the luxury of enjoying the ones that are right. Appealing to science in some generic sense is foolhardy and very much unscientific.

Science told us that consuming cholesterol and fat was the primary driver of heart and cardiovascular disease for decades, until we learned that genetics play a much larger role than diet. A bad scientist is a scientist who is unshakable in their conclusions. A good scientist is the first to doubt and scrutinize their conclusions, and do everything in their power to prove them wrong.

SARS-cov-2 has only been a thing for about 11 months. It generally takes decades to actually tease out the danger profile of any given disease, but thankfully this one is trending toward the plethora of other not very dangerous viruses.
