4.0 is trash. Give me the complexity of 3.0.
Also, 4.0 killed off Kiaransalee - the sweetest god ever. Also - I've played D&D twice ever in my life, but I love the lore/character design. I could design a character for hours and never want to play it.

I have plenty of fun. I RP'd the cleric but not so much the monk. One of the guys I played with did play 3.0 and said it was very different. /shrug I guess it's the equivalent of someone starting new on EQ Live and it being 'trash' compared to Classic/P99. Actually, I run a 3.5 edition game that is set in the world of Norrath. I had an initial campaign on Faydwer that lasted about 6 months with 10 players, then a second campaign on Antonica that we're playing currently with 4-5 players.
It's a pretty cool way to introduce people to the world we know and love so well. Small NPCs like Boomba the Big hocking his halfling pickles, and zones like Kithicor Forest are an awesome thing for people who don't have experience with Norrath. It really allows me to share my love with my players. Plus, this emulator server makes for an awesome way for players to go run around in the world and see a virtual representation of the events and locations that I'm talking about. | ||

I played on the same server as the guys and gals who wrote the EQ pen and paper game for D&D.
They were pretty amazing.

Played 2nd Edition mainly waaaay back in the day. I ran a campaign that used a mix of Conan Lore (the maps/religions/etc) blended with Dragonlance. I was never a real hardcore "roleplayer" tho - was more about the storyline and killing shit....and less about the whole "thou art thine innkeep of thy loins" or wtf ever.
Loved it tho....had some great times there.

yeah when i read the 4.0 manual it was like - WTF? they scrapped EVERYTHING they designed and improved over last 15 years from 2.0 to 3.5, and went back to essentially 1.0 with everything ultra-plain and stupid... Of course now they can release 4.5 and 5,0 which will, ehem, "fix" the 4.0 junk they made, so they can sell it over and over again.
