Argument goes both ways. A strong federal government is a double-edged sword. It's kind of beneficial to have when "Libertarian State A" decides to start dumping unprocessed nuclear waste into the river that flows right into "civilized State B." A federal government can also bring a lot more power to bear than any individual state against large multinational corporations and other entities that can and do engage in their own oppression. It's not a simple issue by any means, with probably no perfect solution. A government beholden to the people is a good start. There's too much money in it now for Joe America to have much voice anymore. Corporations-as-people and which have no responsibility to the nation was an abomination of a concept--and that ruling was made a LONG time ago. Today's problems did not crop up overnight.

Same for political parties. Washington warned about those, and he was right. Jefferson was probably right too, and governments have a finite lifespan before they must be renewed. Ours is I think getting past its buy-by date.

This is its own separate problem, warranting a separate response. Having what amounts to multiple nations within a single country seldom works out over a long term. That very problem has broken up more countries throughout history than probably any other cause other than foreign invasion. America as a melting pot was a sound concept. America as a salad bowl results in the slow balkanization we're witnessing as the decades creep by. I'm not sure the process can be halted at this point. Humans are not mentally designed to want to co-exist with people whom they despise. 50 states are far too many, but you could probably break the country into at least a few smaller (but still large in their own right) entities and they'd all be happier for it. Unfortunately that's a simple thing to say on a message board, but actually trying to do it in practice would be a very messy proposition so for the time being it cannot be considered practical.

The problems this creates are also twofold in that individual people will not hold their local politicians and local businesses accountable instead will rely on "some one else to do it" and the pollution will become outsourced further to places like china or that other place no one gives a shit about like Flynt

For the sake of argument Id like to offer a contrary opinion on inheritance.

Say there are 2 families, both have kids.

One family decides to spend all their money on vacations, and fancy homes and healthy foods. They watch movies and buy toys for their kids and have a wonderful family unit!

The other family is super strict, and saves all their money, they invest with it, and buy discount everything, their lives are super dry in comparison.

The parents of both children over time pass away.

The kids that had the great childhood see the other kids that have a great adult life because of all the saving and investing their parents did, and are like, "YOOOOO how come you have 2 properties?! I want one, that aint fair! They just GAVE that to you! You didn't earn it"

Idk, think about it. Both families had the same opportunities, they just chose "how to spend their time" and one chose to sacrifice joy now, for security in the future.

You yourself said money is a social fabrication. I agree. Time is the real currency, and it can only be spent or saved to be passed on to your children in the form of currency.

Which means I think it's not fair to say that other's owe you theirs.

The system is holding children accountable for their parents actions, no one deserves two properties, but if people have two properties they shouldn't be stolen away, the children who had dumb parents should have an opportunity to start this cycle for themselves and not be punished because they don't have two properties -- enable children who are smarter than their parents to kill their parents and sieze their parents assets, get back to me.

Most people don't have the genetic or mental ability to succesfully navigate this hell. We were designed innitially for tribal communal behavior, were individuals didn't hold nearly the same power as we can now. my best advice to people feeling outrage from reading this - take them pills and stop worrying about the people with 2 or 1000 properties it will fucking destroy you, you can't even imagine the people who start numbering in the hundres of thousands or millions or billions or trillions. You won't be able to until you start approaching that threshold, if thats what you want

find something uplifting and uplift yourself even if it's just carving little chunks of wood into sawdust (or whatever) if thats all you can do, get into it and learn to feel through your body and let your numbed mind rest, let yourself float in the ocean and just let the waves wash over you... lay out all night and watch the stars on drugs whatever. pour a bath of freezing water and try not to die from hypothermia.. whatever.

no one likes seeing streets lined with the dead bumbs of plague victims it's unnatrractive, once it gets to that point society can adapt, relying on the rich to solve the problem(s) is spiritually corrupt and harmful to our selves however. So is attacking them simply for being rich. If you're going to go after someone go after their character and actions. Or try to not go after people and just learn to accept them for who and what they are and communicate in a tolerant way that will make sense, if not well. You will look like this post.

If you have the opportunity to talk to people much higher up the rung then you, if you get pissy they are likely to shut you down in defense of themselves. As nature intends. Cherish that opportunity, even if it is just to learn from observation.

Anecdotal: I was curious in 2016 so I looked it up, the happiness of the average person from Gov Pence's state was the lowest of any country in America.

I woke up from a dream of some nerd using their vectored thrust to melt my fucking dashboard while on a drive to no where. Unintentially, probably. Basically the entire dash and electrical system started heat warp to vaporize. There's more to this dream. But it's hard to explain.
