Despite you simpletons not getting it, the situation is pretty simple. The Fed has overstepped its bounds -- something republicans used to care about.

Governor Brown is not up for reelection, but you would think she is by the way she's trying to walk the political tightrope on this issue as opposed to doing her job and protecting her state's sovereignty. She needs to mobilize state police and/or deploy the guard and arrest these clowns if they attempt to illegally detain a citizen.

The fact that people are more concerned about vandalism than they are about authoritarian use of power by the Fed is gobsmacking to me. I guess federal overreach is only a problem when it's being done by the people on the other side of the political fence?
Considering the actions of the "protestors" getting vanned, and their ideological underpinnings and how that relates to fundamentally transforming the american way of life, i wouldnt give a shit if they escalated from vanning them, to just mowing them down in the streets tianamen square style.

Hope this helps.

The Feds involvement in Portland is not the same as what has happened in the past IE Waco. The biggest difference I can see is simply geographical in nature. In Waco, it was the feds that raided private property (which ownership is protected by the 5th amendment)

Conversely, in the situation with Portland, it is the Feds that are protecting private property, federal property and the right for all to access public property.

How you are able to conflate the two only shows that you are willfully ignorant.

The feds are defending federal property, they have jurisdiction to be there, and are generally only tear gassing the angry mob of insane people when a firework mortar or ball bearing (both of which can easily kill somebody) comes flying at their skulls. But then of course a bunch of brave moms stand in front of the psycho idiot 20 year olds cosplaying revolutionaries and cnn gets to write a super objective article titled "feds tear gas MOMS??!?!".

Feds being bad (in cases where they actually are) is bad. Cops being bad is bad. Violent riots that needlessly destroy property and neighborhoods which may never recover economically from said rioting is also bad, especially when the local cops have been ordered to allow it to happen. There I solved it thread over.

Doug is right.

When local and state law enforcement won't quell anarchy, it falls to the federal government to restore order.

If you are peacefully demonstrating, you are well within your 1st amendment right

When you destroy property and injure or kill people, you are Waging War.

These people launching fireworks and molotovs are no longer legal protestors, they are more akin to Taliban Insurgents and should be treated as such.

I agree, protesting shouldn’t be a right for the unemployed

Rights are derived from God, dingus.

What's the alternative theory?
