The idea of a "fantasy name" is a fairly abstract idea to begin with, so I would think it's difficult to police, unless it's a more straightforward "dickbutt" situation.

Not necessarily anyone in this thread, but it seems some people believe fantasy RP names are only names that are nearly impossible to pronounce and have absolutely no allusion to the characters class or any real world pop culture, while "fantasy" literally means to imagine things that are impossible or improbable.

However, all of our opinions and feelings are kind of irrelevant because it all comes down to the actual rules of the server, which are written down in one place and haven't changed for years. The naming rules are not based on any one person's idea of what a "fantasy name" is. The rules spell out what is prohibited. You can do whatever you want with your name as long as it follows these rules.

One of the rules is:

Common words and phrases that would not be found in the time, place and setting of EverQuest (e.g. Switchblade, Phaser, Toaster, Cannabis).
