I'd also been there over 4 hours waiting/killing side room and offered to buff with my Druid if they actually needed 'heals'. No one communicated with me once during these 4 hours and u watched at least 3 new people that asked to join the list after me join the group. Once it was clear what was going on I killed like 3 goblins on my Druid so I could participate in the competition that is EQ, then I went outside.

They're as good as the person holding it. Another option is to recruit and contest. Start a second group and split the camp. If you're in Unrest and the basement group is fucking you with list terrorism, find a few group members and move to ghost/pit and start contesting everything that's not in their line of sight. If you're in HK, grab a few and take warrior or raider room. Otherwise, put your Nikes on and find something else to kill.
