Serious Question:

Why do we call monsters in this game "mobs"? I remember calling them that back in live with the PST and WTS stuff, and I still call them that cause what else are you going to call it? But where tf did that start?

Mobiles in MUDs I think. They moved rooms.

In old text based rpg’s monsters were mobile entities, mob is short for that.
