Dude, I am so glad you said that.

Because I love all horror movies, especially zombie movies, but for like 20 years I could never admit to my friends that I just didnt "get" re-animator.. I like came out about it a few years ago.

Like everyone that loves it loves it, but for some reason I just could not ever get into it.

I respect it as a masterpiece though. But man, it is Niche.

Glad to see the apocalypse trilogy mentioned; In the Mouth of Madness is fantastic.

For Halloween, I guess it depends if you're actually watching/listening to it, or if it's something on a tv at a party, where conversation and music drown it out anyways. If that is the case, evil dead 2/army of darkness/friday the 13th(s) etc.

Random suggestions (some requiring more attention span than others):
trick 'r treat
vhs
hereditary
it follows
babadook
cabin the woods
drag me to hell
tales from the crypt movies (demon knight, bordello of blood etc)

This movie is IMO the greatest homage to horror and the most fresh and amazing story for the genera like, that I think could ever be made. I love this movie so much.
