This assumes that there are no driver/software issues on specific machines causing problems, which is a heck of an assumption at best. It's also extremely condescending given it's a 2005 era client that should by rights run fine on any computer made in the last decade-plus.

Maybe dyn lights should be enforced only untiml a certain player level, like 35. A bit like the med book.

At 35 they can turn it off if they want(ie: acquired a vision item)

Starting to have this issue creep into Green gameplay as people are getting light sources.

I mean its very cool effect, at night u can see a players light source far away and run to it.

....but soon as 20+ players gather w light sources gameplay becomes stop motion.

Default So much for gaming...

While I grew up on (and still play - thanks GOG!) older games with "lesser" graphics, the overall graphic effects I am getting with the dynamic lighting and the forced clip plane down to nearly nothing has made me decide to put Project 1999 down for a while. To run around a gaming world feeling like a nerd with Coke bottle glasses going in square circles at an amusement park is not worth the subtle aggravation of knowing the world looked much prettier a few months ago than subpar early Atari graphics today.

Overall, I was nobody special in the game - just an old Live player that liked being involved in the EverQuest gaming world. Since "Blue is dead!", what is one less person on the server?

Oh so this is why HHK looks like someone threw bleach on the walls. I was wondering wtf had happened with the lighting... that I didn't remember it being so garish and bright in classic or even on blue a few years ago.. I also got weird antialiasing issues in both Highpass and Highkeep for characters but I'm not sure if that's my client just being buggy af.

EDIT: Oh, I also got the lagging when lots of people are on at once... I didn't realize it was the dynamic lighting causing it. For me running the game through WinEQ2 helped that *somewhat* -- it still feels like molasses if there's 20 or more people in front of me, but it's like runny molasses instead of the thick stuff.

Scout rolls are fucking awful now because of all the blinding white from so many people in one spot, stop this madness and let us disable this garbage. It was poorly coded and even more poorly implemented.

Please fix this, the lag has caused lots of people to log in a lot less frequently and playing with others has become difficult. Not sure if forcing dynamic lighting on 10 years into this project was intentional but it has really screwed up the game for a large amount of people, my comp in 2000 ran this game better then it runs now
