to clarify: the light coming from all the players just bleaches the walls and ground and ceiling with light. They're still there, just illuminated with the light of a thousand suns.
and to further clarify: the brightness is jarring, but that's not the reason it's unplayable. I am getting like 2-3 fps whenever there are more than a handful of people around. | ||

Dynamic lighting makes the game unplayable for me in Velious or just about anywhere with Snow on the ground.

We're all thankful for the effort, but yeah, the recent DX developments are still a bit beta, which is perfectly normal, especially considering Blank & Co are hacking a 2004 binary with no source code available.
Making the DX hacks optional until they are stable would make total sense. | ||
