Does anyone care to offer up an analysis on why all players would rather just to ahead and play blue rather than red at this point?

One serious option:

Raiders might want blue because they are hungry for dragon pixels.

Casuals who don't care about raiding and want more content available to play on their own personal schedule, might like red.

That's my reason, clearly a minority viewpoint, but it is the reason I prefer red.

People wanting PVP want to assert dominance over other players.

The way servers are atm means it is easier to do that on blue by 'denying pixels' or 'monopolising raid content'.
