it depends on what you actually want to accomplish in the game. neither caitlyn nor karma are super picks in the current meta game. as far as ADCs go, the game play is pretty bland and homogenous no matter who you pick, and karma really isn't very good right now (never has been).

just a question, do you already have free tristana from facebook and alistar from youtube unlocked?

hybrid AP champs (elise, diana) are really good right now. i'd suggest learning them over caitlyn or karma any day. they can play three roles (top, mid, jungle). twisted fate is another decent hybrid, but he mostly plays mid. oh, and nidalee, too. she can top, mid, or support.

if you want to jungle, j4 is really well rounded. so is nasus.

if you want to support, pick up thresh and sona.

pure AP mids: ryze, orianna, kassadin

bruiser tops: zed, riven, renekton, jayce

I am not sure what 99% of the acronyms or LoL lingo you used in post means.

1) adc = attack damage carries. champions that auto attack to do damage. they mostly build attack damage items. tristana, caitlyn, ashe

2) ap = ability power. champions that do most of their damage from spells and don't really auto attack. ryze, karma, orianna

3) jungle = champion spends the first half of the match levelling in the area of the map not designated as a lane while harassing opponents with random ganks in the lanes. when team fights start, he usually transitions into tank/initiator or some other type of support. jarvan iv (j4), xin zhao, lee sin

4) support = doesn't kill minions for gold so gets gold per 5 (gp5) masteries/runes/items. also referred to as "0 cs champs." often times has CC spells and heals/shields. soraka, sona, thresh

cs = creep score = minions killed with last hit awarding gold per match

5) bruiser = tank-like heavy melee champ that has abilities that enhance auto attacks and gap closers to help them keep up with kiters. riven, irelia, renekton

6) hybrid = champ has traits of one ore more of the above to make a more unique kit, but doesn't easily fall into one of the categories.
6a diana = melee auto attacking AP champ with shields and gap closer (tanky initiator AP auto attack omg)
6b elise = changes forms between spell caster (human form) and bruiser with gap closer (spider form)
6c twisted fate = ap champ that enhances his next ranged auto attack with spells. good candidate for building lich bane.
6d nidalee = literally everything rolled into one. elusive bruiser in cat form. ap champ chucking spears when out of cat form. can heal, too.

I went 18-3 as Kassadin and some fggts decide to go AFK at 45 mins cuz I guess someone hurt their feelings.

What some people do before a game starts is look up their teammates on a site like www.lolking.net and see how shitty they are.

Personally I love mid lane, solo top or jungle... no time for bot lane, too many retard ADCs but have been known to try to support with Kayle/Soraka. Soraka just reminds me of being an EQ cleric, keep eyes on people's health on the left of the screen and ulti as required. Problem is, playing pure support in LoL is boring as fuck... spamming Q for Soraka isn't really too fruitful.
