Among other fucked up things I’ve been pondering is what’s the effective SPF of various melanin concentrations. I wear 55 SPF. How dark skinned would a person be to have that naturally. I’m guessing olive-skinned people are probably 25-35 SPF.

As an olive skinned person 30 SPF feels about right. I have only been sun burnt once in my life and was a young child then. I don't use sun screen.

That’s awesome. I used to get scorched every trip to the beach as a child, and got a really bad one in my nose once I’m worried might end up as cancer someday. Admittedly, this isn’t a topic I know much about, but I wanna learn more about tology of the derma. Got a pretty good baseline grip on integumentary system last semester. More relevant to me too because my skin is literally thinner and dry all the fucking time now.

Alright, way off. I’m about a 3.5 save vs UV, and darker black skin is about 15 SPF. Everyone needs sun block or an EQ addiction.
