It's really hard for Americans to see how tiny the silver of time they have been dominate is. And all the evidence is that lead is disappearing fast. China has historically been the most powerful empire in the world. They will be again.

No one likes the Chinese though. The Vietnamese and Japanese will be wanting to kill them more than I do

Hope this helps

When I was in a history course in university, an international student from China was talking about this subject from the Chinese perspective. He said that Chinese people generally have a lot of pride in their culture and historical dominanace and that challenges to their cultural superiority (or even just a perceived lack of respect) were often viewed as insults. He also said that the common belief is that not being in the #1 position worldwide is only a temporary problem.

That said, a bit later into the class term, he said that he only talks about China in general terms rather than his own personal opinion because he has to worry about communist party observers who might report him if certain things are said (this particular class had 3 or 4 Chinese international students), so I don't know how much is actually true and how much is just towing the party line in the name of personal safety.

People were saying this in the 80s with regards to Japan too.

Who knows what the future will hold?

And wasn't China constantly fighting with itself throughout its history?

Sure, technically they had an empire, but they only occupied China. Hell, even the Mongols invaded and established a dynasty within China, so they weren't exactly powerful.

Japan has not historically been a dominant empire in the world you jackass. China has been united against foreign threats ever sense Mao won the civil war. It's not like we can say we didn't have to have a civil war to settle some shit at some point either.

I blame the dominant misspelling in my original post on a faulty spell check. It is not my fault.

Back in the 80s, Japan saw a huge economic explosion and people spoke about them like they do now with China.

Don't call me a jackass unless you know what you're talking about.
