It probably wasn’t your power supply it was the molding of the cable. I’m guessing you had one that the plastic was molded over the cable terminations. These are notorious for causing fires inside of mining rigs. Google it and you will find pages upon pages of this happening. Get one that has not molded terminations.

As a sidenote I burned my DVD Drive and almost all of my case one day due to the Dreaded MOLEX TO SATA issues on wiring.

I was only able to save most of my internals due to the fact I run my case sometimes on the open and was quick to unplug it from power to keep it from pumping FIRE into everything ugh [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I will never ever use anything of the sort, it is just a fire hazard waiting to happen.

So a small FYI in case you happen to be on the same boat.

acually that is exactly what caught fire, only it was for my primary HDD. i had a MOLEX to SATA plugged into it. it caught fire on the SATA end.
