Not sure if that's a reference to pop culture I'm not familiar with or what, but this is the realm of Everquest - it can mean whatever you want it to, baby.

On a different note, there seems to be people thinking there is an implied claim on Grizlin if you FTE Lodi because other people use him. That's not a thing.

TLDR on thread is some people think it was a dick move, others think it was a fair game strategy. Personally, I'm not going to leave your bishop on the table just because he has me in check (FTE). The games not over until there is a checkmate (dead mob).

Job Resume

Hello, I would like to apply for a job at your company. I think I would be a good fit. This is my skillset:
  • Hard Working, Clear and Concise - I worked 17 hours straight to refine my hate mail to a P99 guild so my feelings that they should "get good" were properly conveyed.
  • Clever and Attentive - I've figured out many ways to grief people that could otherwise be my friends in a dead 19 year old video game and not get in trouble since I could lawyerquest my way out. I'm lonely and dead inside but that won't impact my performance.
  • Successful - I have this in my bag on P99 - https://wiki.project1999.com/Belt_of_the_Great_Turtle (please click link and ask if you have any questions this is very rare thanks)
I hope you will consider my autism a positive addition to your company. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers to the folks that can't separate their RL from their video game addictions and think this post has any relevance.

Seems like a dick move to take a charmable DPS mob of the table just because you lost FTE. I see these explanations about competition and no other recourse, etc. Why not just wait and secretly hope they fail so you can get your crack as opposed to rules-lawyering to make things more difficult for them?

Either way, I suppose I cannot blame Sirken for ensuring none got the mob, but really, whomever got FTE should have been allowed an unfettered attempt before the next people get a try.

Naw. That was a legit strategy. There's more chance of the people you're hoping will wipe will wipe if you take away their main source of DPS, and your chances are practically nil if you do nothing. BG was proactive about helping their competition fail, legally. AG stomped their feet in reaction to someone throwing a wrench in their plans and they broke the rules instead of thinking of alternatives. BG then beseeched the gods for aid and the mighty turtle was smitten as a reminder that no one wins in Petition Quest.

Overall, a happy ending for everyone. Thank you for sharing this story.

This right here, concise, on the head, and truth.

According to number 3 you are now denying that she charmed a mob that was engaged? You have already admitted to this, doctored logs, lies and half truths.... Way to come full stocked to RNF.

I'd also like to point out that AG is a duo of greedlords and from the perspective of a utilitarian philosopher the BG crew was more deserving to kill Lodi since more people would enjoy the kill and be able to split the loot.

So in this light, OP is b!tching that the BG crew ruined their exploit duo strat and then sealed the kill using a real group LMAO

Understood regarding the strategy. If that strategy is what people always do, I suppose planning for that or making the proper adjustments should be taken into account.

That said, it just seems like a dick move, regardless. Of course, even on live, Lodizal brought out the worst in people, even when the content was trivialized during like PoP or somesuch.

I feel like new players are guided by a strong sense of idealism and think that translates into game play. They don't see the cutthroat horror show we made this server for years on end. Yeah it's a dick move. It's also pragmatic, legal, and something I'd do. I'm also ex-TMO, a guild that locked down server content with that mindset. I prefer your mentality, but that's not the type of place P99 ended up being.

This is an accurate statement.

However, it's hard to tell if the OP is guided by idealistic naivete or grand self-entitlement, or simply frustrated and needed to vent with elf pals in RnF.

No matter what guided them to create this thread, it's been well-recieved and well-served. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Thanks OP!

There's also a third option in between being a cutthroat raider and a snowflake wishing everyone would play nice. I call it the (pre-breakdown) Greengrocer school: Just do random shit you find amusing outside of the raid scene.
