Server is 8 years old and 90% of pickup grouping happens in the same spots. It would be amazing if they would offer exp bonuses in a few zones that rotated every few months to encourage exploration. I doubt this will ever happen but I'd like to be wrong

most of these zones are heavy melee based mobs with very little casters, and usually if they are casters they dont heal (mistmoore). There are some zones like CoM which I find are kind of out of the way from any banks or vendors but most of the zones are logical to level up because they are close to places to vendor/bank. After 50+ it doesn't matter because you can hammer and anybody can bank in OT (if they know how to do it, which isn't hard to figure out). Problem with droga/dalnir/nurga/najena and permafrost is theyre all out of the way and all fortified with healers. Najena maybe being the best out of all those places since it can be close to neriak or the druid rings in LS. Back when the server first started I remember the blackburrow groups, that was a fun zone, you don't quite get groups like snake pit or elites going anymore in blackburrow.

This.

But the same group of neckbeards will always flock to these kind of threads and pound their dickbeaters on the keyboard "NOT CLASSIC" before passing out.

I for one would love to see people leveling in Gorge of King Xorbb and Warrens.

Edit: Also, were footraces to raid targets classic? I don't remember [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You can blame anyone one you want, but at the end of the day the only people you can legitimately blame are Rogean and Nilbog (the same people who've led P99 to be the massive success that it is today). All that "same group of neckbeards" is doing is saying what Rogean/Nilbog would say if they didn't have better things to do.

This is not "Your Project". It is not "Project Democracy". And it is definitely not "Project 1999 Except For That One Thing From 2007 That Bob Wants". It is "Project 1999", and Rogean, Nilbog, and many others have devoted a huge amount of time and money to making it exactly that.

Think of Project 1999 like an art project. If you happen to be able to gain some enjoyment from the (100% free) art then great! The artist worked hard and it probably makes them happy to know that someone is enjoying their work. But you don't go in to an art gallery and start yelling at the artist to change their painting because you think it would be better with more red ... even if it really would be better with more red. It doesn't matter: that's not the painting the artist wanted to paint, so if you want more red go paint your own painting.

EDIT

And before anyone jumps in with "but what about un-classic thing X?", yes, the project isn't perfect, but every compromise has only been because the P99 team felt it was necessary, not because they like having things un-classic. On the contrary they are constantly working to remove un-classic things (eg. light blue cons).

Don't be triggered Lora. This has nothing to do with what I said lol. I was specifically talking about the thread and threads similar to this. Not the implementation of said threads' contents into Project 1999. I was letting OP know this is the kind of response he will garner from a portion of the community who frequents the forums.

And no one holds it against you for being a neckbeard. Honestly, it's okay. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Why not make a thread and get something started? The zones are available 24/7, give them a try <3

I'd rather bitch about it on the forums.

Bump.

There's gotta be more people that agree with me.

I would love to be able to go to CT and form a group there without having to beg ppl to come. I'm fairly sure on live this wasn't a problem because ZEM's weren't known. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
