Have you guys ever seen some of Einstein's handwriting he does all sorts of run on sentences. Doesn't punctuate correctly, yet that man is a genius. Good example for ya Lhancelot
Yeah that was my point. Can't just generalize and say that writing skills = IQ. They really don't have anything to do with one another imo.

If by writing skills you mean knowledge of grammar then you are correct. grammar is arbitrary. it is learned or not learned; used or not used according to the arbitrary rules. if we believe that intelligence is organic and not something you can learn then grammar would be irrelevant to it. the most intelligent man in the world might grow up in a Calcutta slum, be illiterate, and never do anything special; he would still be the most intelligent man in the world.

If by writing skills you mean arranging logical thoughts into a valid and sound argument that communicates to others your thinking process then I disagree. Writing skills, in this sense, wouldn't be the only type of intelligence, but it would be one of them.

Eh, I wouldn't call it arbitrary....but it is learned by exposure and effort, it's true that its not necessarily self-evident.

grammar is arbitrary, language is organic. sometimes the two are the same, not always. grammar is just man-made rules that people have agreed to be the correct ones.

There is a difference between not willing to make the effort to write properly, and not being able to. That's for Einstein.

Being "quite sharp" is vague and subjective at best.

I'm referring to jntelligence as in "IQ level" since this is what you can reasonably measure.

I have little doubt there is a strong correlation between one's IQ score and mother tongue written skills - again, given a representative and sizeable sample, counter-examples certainly being possible.

(Obviously, this doesn't imply that good grammar MEANS intelligence).

At orc 2 last night in EC camped with someone recharging. A Dawn Believer walked in, killed at 4 orcs, looted and left. Awesome people.

Well Id say its pretty respectful to not run into a camp and kill everything. But I guess you can be a great guy and run into everyones camp and kill everything the moment they spawn. Funny how everyone else asks if theres room in the group when they want to join the camp.
