The animals in Western Wastes are good solo xp spot for rangers. Just make sure to pull them to the cliffs or find a spot with no roamers. Loot wise it's terrible, unless the fur the mastodons drop is worth anything. Not sure if they added any recipes for it or not.

Thanks you all for the info, i do KC mobs pretty well, and i can solo RCY pretty easy. i think this is the best spot i can take, but not much money there :/.

FWIW, I just parsed a couple Frenzy fights in Velk at mob having about 13k hp with his max hit being 155. Pretty tough bugger for a level 49 (?) mob.

Pet took about 4k HP damage but never fought without the mob being 65% slowed.
