According to magelo, the raptors in TD are classified as animals on live.

They should make decent fear kiting targets.
The Wiki says they are *not* animals. Is that information incorrect, can anyone confirm?

They were about 3-4 years ago. Those and the alligators, I'm pretty sure, were changed to non-animal one patch because reasons.

Checked about 2 months ago; not animals.

If you dont have a Earthcaller, then get a Swarmcaller. If your not using your archery. Then your doing it wrong. If you have marginal gear you will not be able to tank and spank. Get creative. I did KC entrance mobs a lot. I wouldnt suggest 2nd lvl CoM by yourself. Not enough room.
If you can find a chanter/bard you can fear kite with a charmed pet very easily.

Hi Rufio!

I actually found a Swarmcaller. Sadly, it sucked. It was far more efficient to just max dps with my swiftwind and whatever primary I felt like using. Killing things quickly cut down fight length so reduced damage taken more than waiting for slow to proc then switching weapons would. If I dropped too low below 50 I would either meditate (slinging arrows between ticks) or 'melee' bandage as I slung arrows. These were good times to pop trueshot.

Perhaps it is a different story if you have 30+% haste in a non weapon slot?

The KC entrance stuff is pretty trivial even without a slow proc, especially at 55 once chloroplast starts!

I've found tank and spank isn't actually that hard on low blues, mid 50s. It sees 200 worn AC (roughly the mid 50s cap on live) with 200 defence skill is enough to mitigate effectively on mobs up to their mid 40s. e.g. I've toe-to-toe melee'd froglok hunter solo at 57 and that is a ~45 mob.

So you don't need fungi nor velious quest armor to be able to solo melee. IIRC Cecily did a lot of toe to toe soloing before velious was out to hit 60? That was twin epic and haste click though. Oh yea, I got haste click too, that probably helps out solo a lot.

I can't speak to dps with OH epic. All my lvling was pre velious, with no epics. I may have had sky cloak and RBG. I also found that being able to slow in some grps was very helpful so I always carried swarmcaller.
KC is nice bc you can harmony single pull and clarity can always be found. Con are the trains.
I am not sure if bats in Naggys lair will give xp at 58 but they are charmable by druids so they should be fearable.
Burning woods could be an option if u can pull stuff to zone and avoid sarnaks.

Earring of Essence is prob an 'ok' cash camp for a solo SK

plus you get to farm salts and green goblin skins to use or sell as well as the goblin forge stuff that vendors well

Yeah, it's not easy fear kiting bats. I did it at 47 at the bats zoneline, there is not much room to manouver, you'll often need to pop a root to stop the fear going too far. Calm animal helps a little.

At 58 they won't be good xp, you could do Lavaduct crawlers though

For clarity I mean bats won't be great XP and am suggesting lavaduct crawlers instead.
