![]() Political discourse of the average mangy ape:
Balding Ape 1, "The ideology I've ceded my intellectual sovereignty to is obviously infallible and I have chosen to forego independent thought in favor of this consummate framework. I am therefore, in addition to being morally superior as virtue of this choice, intellectually superior." Balding Ape 2, "Nay! Your embrace of false truths is blinding. It is most evident to those who have correctly embraced the opposing ideology as I have done. Your virtue is vice and your intelligence is lunacy! You are at odds with reality on all grounds."

People who voted for Trump might try to justify it by talking about jobs and economy, but that's like the Southerners who play off the slavery bit of the Civil War by saying it was about the ~economy~ and they are only celebrating their heritage when they wave the Confederate flag, ignoring the fact that slavery WAS the economy back then. These issues are intertwined. In the end, the US is still struggling with a problem it's always struggled with: taking care of the lower and working class population, regardless of race or legal status. (Note: race has been used historically to divide the working class so they can't unite against the upper class. The fact that they just got a billionaire born with a silver spoon in his mouth elected means they are VERY confused at the moment...not that they had much of a choice because of the party system.)

![]() There is a fundamental misconception that intelligence and knowledge are the same thing. They're not. Intelligence is innate, it cannot be acquired. Knowledge is free to all who seek it.
