That's a really good point, but I don't really think 60 years is that long. I mean, I know it's long, but not that long. Besides most of us today didn't have the opportunity to participate in that. I think reparations are the least we can do as a new generation to reaffirm our floundering commitment to equality. What really should happen is that money should be taken from corporations since the slave trade was directly an integral component of business. American business and farmers need to pay for this.

Paying reparations is an admission of guilt to a crime. A payment that you and I must pay as tax payers or however they would conduct it. Let alone my family never owned slaves, and I personally never have. I refuse to accept guilt for a crime I never committed. This is as bad as the crime of slavery itself, in that it indentures generations to a debt to be paid.

No black person living today was ever a slave in the US. I was never a cracker and should not be forced to pay. Any person that thinks so should be given a one way plane ticket to fly back to whatever country they think they belong to. Maybe they can get their wish and be a slave in some UN member country.

And look how great that's working out for some of them as far for govt programs. If you are, then you know the issues, it's pretty sad. A good portion of my immediate family is native American (and some black), and none of them would want to be a part of those broken govt programs as they have been.

Anyway, brings up a good point from that, there is always Haiti. That island mostly consists of former slaves. You know, that Island that the Clinton Foundation recently cheated out of a lot of disaster relief effort money and left them all still living in rubble especially in the north. Clinton's and their buddies are just trying to do that here on a large scale, out of their genuine compassion.

In aggregate, blacks have difficulty being successful in this society so they need some help. We see this in a number of socioeconomic inequalities. Reparations are simply additional gibsmedats.
