17 Turkish police officers dead in Ankara according to Ankara's state-run media, Al-Jazeera reports but cannot independently confirm.

The flashpoints are Istanbul, Ankara (the capital for u Americans), and the Bosphorus strait.

2 A. M local time in Turkey, early morning violence expected as the streets are not calming down, and are still flooded wall to wall with protestors in Ankara and Istanbul.


Erdogan's location is unknown, heightening tension.

Al-Jazeera is reporting there is some gun fire being exchanged between renegade platoons of troops involved in the coup, and the Istanbul police department, who refuse to submit to the renegade's order to disarm police. Confirmed.

Bosphorus is rumored to also be a location of additional skirmishes with protestors being injured, but Jazeera has been unable to confirm protester injuries/deaths.

Istanbul seems to be the flashpoint if there is going to be additional violence, as that is where the renegades have deployed most of their armor.
