Insulting people makes them angry. It is a verbal way of trying to hurt people -- and its natural to get defensive.

The fact that you continue to coup a belligerent attitude about it tells me you either have:

1) low social intelligence

or

2) a personality disorder (narcissism in particular)

It's probably the first one, which means all you have to do is acknowledge you can do things differently. If its the second, I really don't want to waste anymore time talking to you.
