I don't like training either, but then again, it's so hard for the GM's to constantly police it.

VZTZ had no good way of working against train's sure people posted fraps and had people banned. But then again i could make a train movie in 10 minutes where i basicly conjured up all the players in it on my own, and what would that lead to?

I think no rules is the way to go, and i think people will adapt to the game style eventually.

No rules isn't the way to go, smedy you know there is no limit to the level of faggotry people will go to, you can get away with 4 or 5 basic rules on a server like this so it isn't completely idiotic. No raid mob would ever die, i think max level corpse camping is fine by example, by then people learn how to retrieve their corpse from people trying to murder them, but there are people in this community who will literally sit on a level 10 for 5 hours straight with no problems, the server would need a ruleset.

Dont get me wrong smedy, from my point of view as a player it would be perfect for me, but you're speaking for a whole community who would just make the place implode if that happened.

Basically everything knuckle wrote, raid mobs should be contested for, training isn't pvp, i remember dying in fear and attacking a guild in full summoned armour and taking fear back, shit is just fun.

I know Bombfist, you might be right. But you have to realize the amount of bullshit that came from having rules to. Every single little loophole exploited to the max every single time, which eventually had players leaving.

It's such a diplomacy feast with rules, whoever talks to the gm's the best gets their way, this is why i think no rules is a simple rule, there are none, so no loop holes.

But i see your point to, i know what happened on vztz when we did no rules, it was garbage for everyone who played.

Maybe a really solid ruleset is the way to go, a ruleset that has been though over, no loop holes, no questions. Then again i don't think such rulesets exist, and i think it will put a lot of strain on the GM's once again.

I'm all ears for discussion though, i mean trust me, i hate trains and no rules game play.

Well it's down to intuition at the end of the day, the people trying to exploit loop holes are the people who are trying to swindle their way around a GM, which basically comes down to the point of view from 2 people. Sirken did an outstanding job when it came down to most situations as a GM on vz/tz, the situations you're talking about mostly came from people like Puma etc who didn't want to let the server breathe, freezing people in pvp for no reason and so on.

From reading through petitions personally the community isn't so bad, most problems came from game mechanics like i said in an earlier post, any whiny petitions were just basically lack of knowledge about the game etc, i myself got accused of cheating several times as you know when voidd decided to set 2h weapon delay to 0 by accident, most of this servers problems came from game mechanics and GM's. The community does have plenty of morons in it, but that's life.

A decent ruleset written by 10 of the community with Gm involvement, and if we can get 5 Sirkens to police the server then we win.

Sirken did a good job, however when people break the rules, third strike should be it imo. Must have some kind of real punishment, which we lacked on vztz..
