I like ooc. Red community is fun as hell to listen to and server wide chat is one of the things I miss from live. YT though kinda encourages people to plug / TL who otherwise might stick around and fight it out. Any additional incentive for that kills a PvP game. Then again getting YT is amazing.

I don't think I was as against it at first, but now I am. YT, I'm more ambivalent about ooc, but I think it would in the end improve the community if ooc was removed. I would be curious how the item selling and spell selling would work out, the forum would be used a lot more I think and mules would be more commonplace -- would change the dynamics for sure.

I think it's a better option than wiping it clean, try removing those things first and see how it changes the server. Can always add them back in
