How to get DAoC Uthgard server working.



1. Getting the game is quite simple. Visit the official Dark Age of Camelot website and download the game client. You can use this direct link. Download the installer. Follow the instructions given by the installer. After you have finished the setup, go to the installation directory and execute the camelot.exe. It will download all game contents to your harddrive. This will take some time as the complete game client has a size of around 4,5gb.

This is the first step, and this you do have to do. Once you download game from website, its like a 14mb file. It looks like it installs the game but does nothing more but give you the patcher. Once you install that click on the DAoC.EXE and it will bring up the patcher and download the game. Once complete just hit cancle, do not play. It will patch your game and you have to redownload.

2. Now, Make sure you download DAoC portal. This is how you will open and play game everytime. Has settings,IRC channel bunch of other stuff. When you are down downloading it. Follow these steps.

1. Click File then settings. Where it says a file name and browse, make sure you have you the address to your daoc game file. The path.

2. Once that is done, click patch.

Now before you can play you must replace your game.dll file. Everyone is having this problem including me. The reason is your game file is 1.10 and Uthgard server itself is running 1.9, thus giving you a error.

This is tricky. There are about 5 different download links. Make sure you click the --> Download button. It is right above Tipp: Gratis Webspace!.

Get your game file the game.dll. Sometimes when you download it people have been saying that it gives you some sort of error. Just ignore that. Copy that file and put it in your DAoC directory folder to replace the current game.dll file.

Load up your portal and select the Uthgard server. Make up a login/password and click login and you should be good to go.

We still need an active Druid and maybe a Champion or another Blademaster. Let me know if you need to be added or removed from this list, I can't keep up with people changing their minds about playing or deciding to. If anyone wants to be a caster also, it's cool, I'm just listing what classes would fit this melee-based group best for now. I'm also in the process of recruiting some old friends I used to run with on this server to see if we can fill up the group.

Yea man, I'll get around to it today. Will you be around later on? (Did you spec blades or blunts?)

I'm thinking...maybe our BMs and myself should've all rolled Shars! Shar BMs and Shar Hero! Would be pretty badass..
