I'll be honest though, I seriously haven't played DAOC in ages... its like playing a whole new game to me.

How to get DAoC Uthgard server working.



1. Getting the game is quite simple. Visit the official Dark Age of Camelot website and download the game client. You can use this direct link. Download the installer. Follow the instructions given by the installer. After you have finished the setup, go to the installation directory and execute the camelot.exe. It will download all game contents to your harddrive. This will take some time as the complete game client has a size of around 4,5gb.

This is the first step, and this you do have to do. Once you download game from website, its like a 14mb file. It looks like it installs the game but does nothing more but give you the patcher. Once you install that click on the DAoC.EXE and it will bring up the patcher and download the game. Once complete just hit cancle, do not play. It will patch your game and you have to redownload.

2. Now, Make sure you download DAoC portal. This is how you will open and play game everytime. Has settings,IRC channel bunch of other stuff. When you are down downloading it. Follow these steps.

1. Click File then settings. Where it says a file name and browse, make sure you have you the address to your daoc game file. The path.

2. Once that is done, click patch.

Now before you can play you must replace your game.dll file. Everyone is having this problem including me. The reason is your game file is 1.10 and Uthgard server itself is running 1.9, thus giving you a error.

This is tricky. There are about 5 different download links. Make sure you click the --> Download button. It is right above Tipp: Gratis Webspace!.

Get your game file the game.dll. Sometimes when you download it people have been saying that it gives you some sort of error. Just ignore that. Copy that file and put it in your DAoC directory folder to replace the current game.dll file.

Load up your portal and select the Uthgard server. Make up a login/password and click login and you should be good to go.

Other then VW or Vamp I've never liked Hib.
So I'll be on Mid sir.

This patcher is not playing nicely. It just randomly stops downloading after 15 minutes or so, so I can't really just run it overnight. Kind of frustrating considering my 70kb/sec download speed atm.

Still not completely sure if I'm going to go Eldritch because apparently Mana sucks at high-end. So now I'm deciding if I'm gonna stick with Eldritch and switch from Mana to a Light/Mana spec at 40 or play something else.

I hate how few classes/builds are actually viable on this server. Like, 60 different paths you can go per realm considering classes + spec lines, but <10 are actually viable for endgame pvp.

Like, I wouldn't mind playing a melee. But I don't want to be a bashbot and that pretty much rules out all your options, unless I play a BM and we already have a Hero/Bashbot BM. Champions and Wardens are really fun, but they're not viable.

It seems like Hibernia has this problem a bit more than the other realms. The only classes that really seem worthwhile in a group pvp situation are BM, Druid, Bard, and Eldritch. You can fit in an Enchanter if you have a Light Eldritch, and maybe a Mentalist if you have both the Eldritch and Enchanter.

I know you can make different things work, but just some thoughts from your resident min/maxer [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Missing Midgard already and I haven't even downloaded the client yet...

Game randomly restarts my comp, on both linux and windows. When it happens, I'm completely fucked out of booting up either OS for awhile til computer unshits itself. Talkin blue screens and linux kernel spazzing out, never had this happen til installed last night.
