Of course I think this guy is a manipulative psychopath. I was wondering if that video showed exactly what he wanted to show and nothing else. And I found this later in the comments:

Drone-Flying Austin Haughwout Charged With Assaulting Police

"Haughwout was yelling and flailing while attempting to get to the door, and when officers attempted to take Haughwout to the ground, one saw that he was clutching a GoPro camera in his left hand, the report said. He continued to yell and was trying to hit his head into the floor and nearby door, refused to stand up and was yelling "help me," the report says. Several officers had to carry him to the booking area past the front lobby, the report said.

He was taken to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline clinic after he vomited in the booking area of the police department, the report said. While there, staff found a cellphone hidden in his underwear, according to the police report."

Yeah, honestly, I hadn't seen that, good find. That's all I'm saying, you never know. And being the case, like I was saying, there wasn't really anything in the vid I posted that nailed it that his story was true or even false for that matter. Other than it was imo so hilarious, in the way the guy just rolled over and then whined. But looks like the guy is just that way, got himself in a lot of trouble. They should probably drop any charges against that woman imo. Likely his first victim... or should be looked into again.

Now back to race coverage [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I wanna build one, next year possibly. I've seen some other race vids, but the ones in the original post was probably the best of them that I've found so far. I was looking for FPV car racing too, but nothing really around like that as being really sports emergent wise.

An actual great use for VR head sets it looks, but not really being "VR" as you are simply looking through the camera on your drone. But as if you are virtually inside the drone, through FPV.

Watching these in person is amazing. I have a few friends that are into it (and compete nationally). Find someone doing this, they usually have extra headsets you can tune in to watch them fly, its pretty pretty damn awesome to watch in person. They do crash a lot too (bumping into each other, gates, other obstacles), and the crashes are usually pretty spectacular.

Yep, and they are pretty durable with their crashes, apart from slamming straight into a brick wall. Most cases they just break props, which are a couple bucks each. The DIY's look the best way to go, then just have a lot of extra parts like when a motor does get smashed or whatnot. And as fast as they go, around 60mph, 2ft off the ground which seems like 120mph, it's amazing they hold together at all.
TREE NATIONALS • FPV Forest Racing [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] i tawt i taw a wookie tat
And then there is: FPV Racing - Crash Session!!!

And he says he doesn't speed up the vids hehe offers originals to prove: ImmersionRC VortexPRO • PINBALL v2•
The more output form the batteries, the faster you go.

I found this one yesterday too, though it's not a quad, but a glider. May as well post it. Space Glider - FPV to Space and Back!. Beats the model rockets I built as a teen hehe. Looked into it, damn FAA. Being UHF, looks like a HAM license is needed in the US, technical class.

As for buying a drone, other than building racers, I like this one the best: Busted Wallet Review - Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K. There are mainly two models among the top sellers in this class (large camera drones), with a third being close. But lots of vids comparing this vs the DJI Phantom 3. But the Q500 is a lot quieter, has a built in tablet display which means no/less computer crashes as the other has (not a critical failure), and it's a slower flight speed but much smoother. I see a lot of good vids made with it.

The phantom is pretty aggressive though, and the 4K camera is about the same, though the Q500 you can detach and use as a regular handheld cam which I'm about in the market for to upgrade from my current cam an older canon eos. Though if chasing something fast, like a flock of birds, or water skiers, the phantom would probably do that better.
