I never thought of its use as serious.

It always seemed tongue-in-cheek by people who know better, but still want to say something demeaning about a certain culture. At least that is how I interpreted it when I've seen it used, and perhaps memed it a few times myself when the mood struck me.

Maybe I am just a sheltered, naïve, privileged white dude though who doesn't know anything and the people using "dindu" are wearing white hoods listening to Rush Limbaugh podcasts. But maybe not u kno hehe
