Unfortunately, Jopp, the guild you created has turned into something I think you wouldn't like sometimes. However, I will never forget you as the creator, and I know you're a good guy in all situations.

I certainly appreciate everything DaP has done for the server in terms of transportation, especially for new/lowbies that really can't afford it and would be stuck with one hell of a run in front of them for some things. Especially when most of DaP will go out of their way for free, like the wonderful Druid that watched my brand new low level druid bite it from a griffon when he dropped camo for the group invite. He ran all the way out to Qeynos to pick him up, ported him back to Karana for his body, and then took him to his original destination, all without charge.

That being said, if you're on a character fully capable of making it at least to the zone that the nearest druid ring is in, I feel it's shitty to ask for a port from someone without at least doing exactly that. Any time I poke a druid to get a pick up from somewhere out of Druid Ring zones, I always attach an extra tip. So it's a tad shitty that a level 25 necromancer expected someone to run out to Cabilis to pick them up when they could easily get to a pick up spot, and then called them a fuckboy. (To the clerics in the thread, I agree that scaling tips should be offered the further and deeper you have to go for a corpse!)

But I also have to agree with Joppy. Seriously, you made an RnF post about this? Simply tell the person "Sorry, but unless you can make it out to a druid ring zone or offer me extra for the trip, I just don't have time for that right now." and then offered to ping guildchat to see if anyone else was interested in picking him up. If he starts sending you nasty tells, just /ignore him and move on.

Good luck keeping your DaP guild tag, I can't imagine the leadership is going to like this thread...

I've always operated like this on my wizard and people have been more than generous. Some tip huge and some don't tip at all. Nature of the game.

Asking how much someone is going to tip up front is crap and pretty scummy. Gives us white knights a bad name ya know.

It was my mistake to make the title about the plat. It isn't about the money. I think I created this thread more as a "rant" (in RnF) as to the increasing number of players who are taking advantage/for granted a service the guild provides. My beef is not the lack of payment, but being called a f***boy for asking for a fee is completely unnecessary.

Sent him three or four follow-up tells about how I checked the guild to see if anyone was bound in the area, how he could check back at peak times tonight for anyone who might be bound there, and how I'm sorry for asking, I just couldn't spare the time with other people on the hook.

And I'm all for helping people. I always offer free CR ports, free invis/levi/SoW with every port if needed, and offer my services to everyone who needs it. I've just been a part of an exceedingly large number of port experiences where people take advantage of the service: having people meet them at Neriak ZL to do a sizeable item/plat transfer and then port to BBM for 4 plat, having people want to be bound in a city 2-3 zones over for the same fee. Like I said, I don't mind it most of the time, but the one time I ask for a fee upfront, I get a venomous response, and I think it's kind of ridiculous. And I'm not trying to toot my own horn. I do those because I think it is a great way to contribute to making the server great. People have showed me the same kindness here and on live and it made EQ that much better,
