Even after switching to red I cant seem to get stoked about playing EQ anymore, so I'd probably give Eve a try if there was enough interest to do a p99 thing. Probably going to give the new Tribes patch a go until I find something else, but hit me up if you get something put together. Always wanted to try Eve, but jumping into a 12 year old game by myself isnt particularly appealing.

Whatwhatwhatwhat? Tribes is still around? It's what I cut my online gaming teeth on, back when we were HPBs playing on a 33.6 modem. Gonna have to do some research now.

Ya, there was a new tribes released a few years ago. A lot of T1 and T2 players complained about the physics, but it was actually a lot of fun. The company (Hi-Rez) abandoned the game more than a year ago to support Smite, but recently decided to release another patch with new maps and a revamp of the load out system. It is currently only on test servers though.

The game is kind of dead, but last time I played there were still a few active public servers and still an active community for more organized pick up games. The competitive scene pretty much died when they quit updating the game, but when the new patch gets released I'm sure they'll be some draft tournaments and more pick up games for a while.

The game is free to play too, so definitely check it out. They tried to make money selling voice packs and skins only, which is probably why it was a bit of a financial boondoggle.

EVE is a great game but it takes a long time to train skills. Kinda a drag.

Eve is the most boring mmo there is, it is completely uninteresting, theres almost no money in null sec, faction mods are worthless and you can make more grinding missions ( like doing wow quests)

suicide ganking sucks now because the game is hard coded to have high value shit burn up and not drop, and even if it does if you scoop you get a criminal flag

If you want to have some fun playing that type of game, buy the new star wars battlefront, its awesome.

They are going to be adding expansion packs throughout the year and some big space battles.

Star Wars Battlefront is the single biggest slap in the face to gamers ever. You're crazy. And there isn't even a single space battle....yet. The game is a cash grab for little kids and grown fanbois.

I've read up on battlefront. according to userers and critics it has no depth.

Regarding the criminal flag. my original proposition would be to create a pirate/mercenary alliance of as many Red 99 community members as possible and just set out to cause as much chaos as possible.

while impeding on r99 playtime/raid schedules as little as possible

It is not supposed to have "Depth" its supposed to be a fun / action oriented NO COMMITMENT Game

Which is what most adults want from games.
