This isn't a debate about testing drugs on animals, its a guy laughing about getting his cat high.

I know about as much as you do about the situation, so could you please point out where the 'dude' is 'laughing about getting his cat high'?

..
and also, it's the same concept. Can't make cheese without the milk.

If you can't see the difference between testing drugs on animals to discover side effects and giving your cat shrooms because you thought it would be fun, I don't know what to say. I don't really want to argue about it either, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

On many drug-related forums, people say "I give this to my cat", but they actually mean they took it themselves. They don't want to say it clearly because of legal issues (well, I'm not sure it really matters, but drugs get you paranoid). It's the same as saying "SWIM took some of if" (Someone Who Isn't Me).

If you actually gave some shrooms to your cat, you're a moron.

The thing is that you have no idea how that dose of psilocybin will affect your animal, and you are therefore an irresponsible lout for possibly inflicting permanent psychosis on an animal you're supposed to care for. Everyone hopes that isn't the case, but it's certainly possible. The fact that you acted so irresponsibly in spite of the fact of that possibility shows a lot about your judgement. The average person weighs 160lbs. The average cat weighs 5lbs. That is a 32:1 ratio. The average human dose of mushrooms is 1.75 grams. If you're dosing grams per lb, that would mean you should divide 1.75 by 32 to find an appropriate dose. That would give you 0.055 grams. You not only gave your cat a drug irresponsibly, but you gave it on the order of ten times the dose which would be g/lb. equivalent. Good job asshole.

Hasbinbad espouses the killing of all military servicemen and women, but mild animal cruelty(questionably, because psilocybin is completely harmless even to a cat) is crossing the line. lawl
