Kinda seems like the elders are spawning too slow and the beads are not dropping enough anyways.

The beads are the rare drop off the Holgresh Elders. It takes most people 5-6 hours of killing elders to get a drop. People do sell them, but very rarely, and for around 1.5 - 2K from what I have seen. Some may be able to get them cheaper if the seller does not know the true potential worth of them to a monk !!.

Then theres this post in the same thread (after they stopped dropping).

Well I just tried to get myself a set of Elder beads and boy did it SUCK. I logged in and started the camp at 10am pst on 9/5 and ended at 3:30am pst 9/6. In the 17 and a half hours I was there, I cleared the entire 8 or so spawns in the holgresh cave non stop.



In that time, 3 Grand Viziers spawns, 6 Raiders and 51 Elders. The grand vizier NEVER dropped the Holgresh Grand Vizier beads, while 5 of the elders dropped the vizier beads. Out of the 51 elder spawns, not one elder bead dropped.



This is very very disappointing, as I can only assume that Verant went and f'd up the loot tables, by moving the Vizier beads to the elder table and taking said beads off the Vizier table. I am pretty po'd that I just wasted 17 and a half hours at a camp that Verant could have simply put a message in the patch saying they changed it. I for one do not believe that the elder beads drop anymore from the talks I have had with other monks over the past week when they attempted to get them too. /F-U Verant!

If we assume that the spawn rate didn't change and we assume that the beads were just switched in the drop table. This basically boils down to ~10% spawn rate (one popping every 20 minutes with 8 of them on a 14.5min timer) and a ~10% drop rate (5 dropping out of 51 spawns).

Even at that *low* rate, that's 10% drop, 3 elders per hour, so essentially 1 bead drop per 3.3~ hours. Even if we put this at say, 4 hours to round up, thats still 6 beads per day since its perma camped. That's over 1000 sets of beads by the time they're removed 6 months post Velious.

Kids trying to make it seem like they're rarer than they are to cash in.

Keep in mind Spenny, that's just inside the cave.

There are 6 outside spawns that are on a 7min repop and two more spawns on a 14 min repop.

So essentially another 14 possible spawns in the same time frame as farming the inside of the cave. So, basically doubling the rate.

oh any my last 100k sale was in copper, sorry, my bad i totally forgot :/ My old age is truly getting me confused, if it wasn't for you younger mature generation i may actually have believed i sold it for 100k plat, that would have been embarrassing.

while I understand your skepticism, I personally counted 130 Elder Holgresh kills prior to seeing a drop in the cave.... that's 10 spawns at 7min repops with an extra spawn in the center on a 2hour timer. To get to 130 Elders, it took 26 hours. Admittedly, I don't have statistics from the whole zone, but the cave (which has your 100 person list) isn't yielding 5 a day.

You can come on the forums and express your outrage at price gouging (they're not worth 100k yet) and paint your self as a Geisha or you can move on to something more interesting, but the reality is that 5 is probably being overly optimistic on a daily basis.

It can be a terrible camp. I camped it 24 hours this past week with no beads.

Someone would have to be an absolute fool to buy these for more than 20k, and that's only for a convenience of dodging that list.

The market is quickly becoming saturated. The most sold item right now is the holgresh elder beads. Once the novelty wears off and even MORE show up in EC, the price will go down and people won't be as stupid.

Personally I'd rather poopsock this item than lay more than 10k myself, but that's coming from a chanter epic poopsocker so this ain't shit.
