I played on tarrew marr back in the day
If you want no stress everquest with the EC tunnel like classic but no ability to raid end game content without dedicating all of your time to everquest play blue. If you want a lot less population but the ability to gear out your character and have the option to raid kunark with a small crew of pals or raid velious with 100 zerglings and get uncontested loot with occasional pvp at your bind while naked play red I've tried both frankly I prefer red.

Oh i got this one.
Welcome to red, I have just left through the exit door here. I rolled a cleric with a new to red guild called TMO. My team was always in need of clerics and I leveled up quickly, YES there will be attacks by decked out twinks, my groups were often attacked by epiced, bis for kunark, while my guildmates/groupmates were wearing cloth. There will be nights where you have to walk away from the box because absolutely every zone you go to there will be empire alts there hunting you down to harass you. (one night we did this routine, till finally campign for the night. seb, chardok, hole, permafrost, hole.) I started with nothing, got a few handme downs from guildmates. I was able to purchase most of my spells as i leveled, filling out my book after i was able to group in SEB. I had every slot filled with something other than cloth at level 60, but i was missing over 1300 mana from my where my cleric on blue was sitting. (lack of gear), and my resists were lower than blue as well. Well, then Empire decided that TMO was more than a cute puppy on the server and activity harassed, zone-line camped, violated PNP continuously. This is a one guild server, there is calls for "we want pvp" we want more players, but they grief off any attempt to to compete before competitors get feet under them. yes, you can petition and 3-4 weeks later the petitions get answered, I love Sirken I am not saying anything bad about him you cannot expect one volunteer GM to be able to handle all the petitions for shitty behavior, but the only way to change the shitty behavior is to petition it and get the violator suspended, but it loses its meaning to the violator if its 4 weeks down the road, and like me, it does nothing for the petitioner because i am gone. I initially left blue to play here cause i was tired of petitionquest, i chose to not play it on red. pvp to take a camp, pvp before dragon encounter sure, but what goes on here TO ME is mostly griefing. My advise is to not roll on red. Unless you are already an empire minion. Then good luck watching all the good spoils go to the "inner core" that talk on special elf chat or something cause they can't talk in /gu , or in their ts. Unless Rogean changes something the red server will continue to be a place where the server population is low. Sometimes I felt like Mad max going up against all the crazys, sometimes It felt like we might conquer, other times, it just felt like the insane asylum with clear cut rules, being totally thrown out, cause you are playing against someone on opiates

I don't quite understand how you can assume that a high degree of people are "drug addicts" just based off your interactions with them via texts / actions made in a virtual world. Also, to say that every single person that plays on Red is also "fucked up on something at all times" is exaggerated to say the least. If you would care to elaborate as to why you think these things; I'm all ears.

server is great. if you're new, you must disregard all opinions on what pvp is
come in with no expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised. just be a normal, pleasant person, with the general goal of enjoying your time in an interesting eq world, you'll probably enjoy it here. you'll get ganked, but be willing to calmly chat after that pvp encounter. this can sometimes grant you a free pass from a player or even result in some items being thrown your way if you're getting griefed by someone who overpowers you and won't leave you alone after one request, just remember sometimes all it takes is a 10-15 minute /camp to lose someone's interest. they drink tears, so don't give them a reason to stay. its a good experience. just made all the better by coming into it knowing your place and just trying to learn and having zero expectations

i think the way people get burned out, especially recently, is that they joined guilds really early (whether at lv 10 or at 50+ before meeting anyone), got sucked into full immersion mode, and learned a lot of what they know from the last 2 months or so of server drama
guilds are great, but don't be afraid to roam guildless. its ur game and time investment

Everyone is mad that empire actually has a velious ready raid force. We griefed the other larger zerg force into submission about 3 weeks ago. Their splintered remanents are all the people crying about the health of the server even though pop is 300+ primetime every day.
We will link the vulak loots in ooc, dont worry.
