Obviously it takes more convincing than a simple "stay away" comment to make up my decision.
How about "read the forums for a couple of days, thats what you can expect the pop to look like at end game"

How about "obviously I have been reading the forums, these and other sections of it and I keep hearing both sides of the coin, but I'd like to form my decision not based just off of them, but more opinions on the matter while raising other questions/concerns of my own that some decent folk could possibly answer". Yeah.

It's clear from my post I have been doing some research, I see all the "consider red today" posts, I see there's a Zerg squad contesting Velious, I see the cries and drama. So how about either maybe try to help me form a better conclusion, or just don't even bother wasting yours, and ultimately my time on posting garbage here. Thanks.

Anyways... I'm no stranger to PvP, or even dealing with a Zerg that populates a majority of the server. I used to play on Rallos, Vallon, then Sullon Zek servers. I'm no stranger to PvP, I enjoy it; but I enjoy PvE as well (raiding). I understand that may be just a dream unless I join (insert X guild) here, and even then would I see loot? I really don't give a shit if I do; I just like raiding in general, and I'm no leech; I've played a Cleric since Kunark and know the class and the game pretty damn well.

I was merely just asking if this was worth my time, if it is at all possible to make my mark here if I am dedicated enough (I am), and if grouping does occur while leveling up.

I pretty much had most of my answers made clear here by the replies, that I had not seen in other posts; so I thank you guys who replied with something useful to say.

Cheers.

Honestly if you want to PvE id still suggest red over blue.

Blue has 1200+ players, they use lists for everything. If that sounds like your cup of tea go for it. I wouldn't last an hour there.

Red will allow you to PvE and avoid most PvP if you really want to. If you play a cleric and get into a PvP battle you can probably avoid dying and even be asset to your group. It's honestly amazing anyone gets PvP kills when its so easy as a caster to not die.

Soloing as a cleric will be awful, but I think there's a lot of groups in most brackets at the moment if your patient.

I have a few blue friends who never played red on live, and play here, and none of them will ever go back to blue. Some of them still avoid most pvp, others have excelled at pvp.

I'll give you some plat if you're worried about the xp bonus effecting spells, when I started here it was a bit of an issue. I had to use flame lick up until level 20 something when Roberto, a gentlemen and brave knight of the resistance, gave me plat.

edit: fair warning though many people on this server are sociopaths or have extreme mental health issues

aits really a nonsense to solo, so if u cant find a group just roll an alt id tell. On the other hand if u use /ooc is really easy to get a good gro going, plenty of people playing alts on non raiding times etc, with the bonus exp in a full grp rolling as it should the exp is as fast and if u were getting a powerlvl i tell u, been there done that. is so damn fast its a nonsense to not stay on /ooc forming a grp even for half an hour, it pays off.

on another note, is the same with any class, is hard to find grps if u dont get vocal on /ooc and start gathering people and sending tells. any class can do that so any class can get into a good group and amass exp at a very fast rate, any other way of lvling makes non sense really. Plus dont bother with the plat rate or anythng, ull lvl so fast soon ull be gettin little gear and then u can be on planar raids and gear up easy

Red is a PvP server. If you're PVE specialist then join empire.

Don't solo, ever. Especially on a cleric.

Roll a toon, join thunderdome, level up and make some friends. Learn to love pvp and join a smaller guild or join Empire if you don't.

Every other guild is heavily involved in pvp at all times.

Basically I'm saying if he doesnt want pvp there's only one choice. Only in Empire can you successfully avoid it.

Also i have never hid from Empire fights.

Ask around.
