"They fought valiently but the Empire of Smaug was too terrible and powerful for them."

It is hard to describe the feeling of fighting the force that Empire brought to the fight on opening night of velly. Their force was 4-5x larger with 10x the gear and experience.

We fought 25 against 40 in East Karana, only to zone in to North Karana to find 40 more waiting. Quick evacuation to Steam font and there was still another 20 there.

Mass desertion and betrayal didn't help much either.

I imagine it kinda felt like being Iraqi soldier during the US invasion.

If i was a little more immersed, I would have gotten PTSD.

You realize that this situation is identical to TMO vs FE on blue. The only difference is PvP. FE adapted and I believe TMOred can do the same.

TMOred or any other guild can not and will not ever take the #1 spot from empire.. unless empire is disbanded by staff.

Some major differences:

As groot pointed out, the GM Staff intervened to create a paradigm that allowed other guilds to flourish, where before they could not (rotations). In a way, long variances was its own sort of PVP, but real PVP is much harder to overcome. Real pvp you need an army to compete. Mass variance you just need a handful of complete and utter neck beards.

Even then, the idea of FE adapting is kinda invalid. FE joint raided with IB to "adapt." And then, of course, FE merged into TMOblue.

Your history is a bit off. FE didn't always joint raid with IB. We had our first VP kill that we took from TMO solo. We also had you guys on your knees for a couple months until Daddy Zeelot had to come back.

You also had an army of 3x the players and the skill than we did. We were still able to do significantly more with less. And yes, FE did merge with TMO after FE and IB broke up (the same alliance that dismantled TMO). TMO would have collapsed much sooner had they not merged - Both guilds were effectively dead.

You need to have some faith and play some politics.
