Honestly, why do you even need stopwatchers or timers? Is it that hard for most players to gauge how long you (or your party) take to kill a target in an area where you plan to grind, compare that to how long your buffs last, estimate how many pulls it'll take before you need to rebuff and start a cycle in your head based on that information?
At this point I have played much longer with spell timers than without.

As a cleric on PVP server I run around with a full set of buffs on at all times and I keep them fresh. Some last a long time and some last only 15 or so minutes. It's very difficult to keep track and a high HP buff dropping in the middle of a fight would kill me, and I can't simply rebuff all the time because symbol costs 10pp and the other spells cost a lot of mana which = time which = I don't get to play as much.

On blue it wouldn't matter to me. No one trying to kill me./

Use GINA and set up timers based on the log messages when you apply your buffs. Don't listen to nerds telling you it isn't allowed until there's official word saying so.

P99 EULA still says "Programs that provide audible queues or overlay information by only reading the Everquest log files are currently allowed"

I use Gamtexttriggers for mez/haste timer and sometimes spawn timer. I'm not sure if I will set it up for other buffs, so far it has not been that annoying. It's actually been sort of freeing as now I am not checking my buff timers so dang often. When they are available I check them a lot. It will suck the first time I am in NFP or some other good city and my illusion drops without me noticing. That death will suck, a death from levi dropping would at least be amusing. I would be much more than likely to die from EB wearing off though. I am notorious for dieing in water for whatever reason.

Some things from classic are awesome, a bunch of other things are extremely dated and tiresome. People against simple QoL buffs are seriously masochistic.

All removing buff timers essentially did was piss off the people that play by the rules. All the others will use programs and such that still display them.
