Red would be fun if it had an actual classic ruleset. What the fuck is FFA PvP with no item loot? That never existed on classic. Retarded.

Red should have been team PvP with coin loot or FFA PvP with item loot.

They didn't choose a teams rule set because the population is as low as it is. They can't make it teams just because a small faction of players would decide to play there if it were. It would cut the amount of targets you could attack in half or in thirds (depending on the teams/ amount of players from each).

The main point we have against fungi twinks is: you outlevel them very quickly.

If the population continues to grow, global OOC has to go. It will probably be voted on/ changed if it gets above 400 pop. You also have the option of turning off OOC during times it's bothersome, though you shouldn't really have to, which I get.

There are a lot of limiting factors on the server directly related to the population, not necessarily because we like it the way it is.

No way, I love global OOC!
If this is the case, we don't need any more players on Red... nothing to see here... move along [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Not being twinked and not having a group in my back pocket means I can't do anything to stop those players if I play red either.

Red Lesson #3 - make friends! If you're someone who logs on red to play SoloQuest you won't enjoy it as much compared to grouping and joining a guild. I appreciate the irony of that given the lower pop compared to blue but red is moving up in population.

Keep away from Crushbone and Mistmoore, and already your survival chances greatly improve. Those few fungi twinks are lazy, if they log in and nobody is there to kill they'll log out again rather than roaming much beyond those areas.

Also remember that you can trade blue plat for red plat if you really don't want to be day 1 naked...but part of red's charm is the fresh start and getting to grips with pvp mechanics if you dont know much about them. My first real taste of EQ pvp was P99 red and there is nothing that beats the buzz of that first pvp kill... experience that and I guarantee you'll have a taste for it.

Then message the guy you killed, say good fight... and carry on about your business [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I have no interest in causing other players distress, so player killing is not something I want to do. Similarly, I have found no exhilaration when another player gets me killed.

If I played on a PvP server, it would be in spite of the PvP, not because of it. The reduced population is basically the only benefit I can see, a benefit the Red community seems hellbent on eliminating through this constant recruitment.

This is how I am playing red. Still you wind up caught up in it eventually. I know what real pvp should be like in an MMO that was designed for pvp because Daoc and eq pvp is horrible. I get no rush out of these fights. I have more fun trying to avoid pvp on this server it ads a bit of extra immersion and even offers some rp opportunities.

Also All of the pvp encounters I have had on this server I have been at a severe disadvantage and that's after the gear. Either at my bind point or engaged with mobs or zoning into an area as a lowbie in rags or outnumbered .

The players fault I say and these propaganda threads aren't going to improve the pop on this server.

This is true, most of them are melee chars, so they are not very mobile.
Most of them seem to stick to one zone.. exception being Iool who surprised everyone by migrating from Unrest to HighKeep.

Red probably isn't for you Bweetza if you don't enjoy pvp in games... blue will always be there. People struggling to find things to kill this weekend though.
