The only reason I visit Chipotle is for their carnitas. It's incredible, and seasoned perfectly. I love pork in general. The rest of the food is kind of bland.

Its not even that inexpensive. You can go to an absolute hole in the wall mexican joint anywhere in the US and pay less for a taco platter or burrito platter and get chips and salsa for less than a burrotio and a drink at chipotle.

Most mexican joints are fucking terrible - frozen low grade meats, borderline veggies, mediocre red sauce and government cheese

I'd rather make a burrito at home than eat at most disease-laden mexican joints.

Chipotle is at least a solid quick option for $7 when you don't feel like doing shit. It's very much Americanized Mexican food, and I don't think anyone is claiming that it's A+ cuisine. It's just way better than McDonald's or whatever the fuck.

True. I'm not sure if people realize how easy it is to make really good Mexican food at home. And typically pretty cheap too.

Yeah, I have a gr8 frame of reference for mexican being born in Utah and living in El Paso (North Juarez).

But where I live now (east cost)

Is totally crap for mexican. Sure, for 7$ I could get a mexican burrito platter, which would indeed give me the shits and be full of something like crisco laced with cumin and chilli powder

But at Chipotle know the quality is good, it's made with crap thats not going to shoot my bloodsugar to the floor within the next 5 mins after eating it.

for 10.25$ it's the white persons mexican dream on the east coast.

For 7$ at chipotle, thats no chips, no drink, no sauce, no meat

It is bland, but its not as bland as Joe Smucks shit-hole-in-the-wall using the cheapest ingredients on the market and serving old fuck 90 somethings thru straws.

it's pretty hilarious how white people think chipotle is "healthier than mcdonalds"

here is a burrito with normal toppings

1310 calories, 70g fat, 22.5g sat fat, and more than your entire daily limit of sodium

I just checked out their calculator. Did you put every single topping on it or something?... My usual bowl only comes to 530 calories, 760 when I want some guac. Even with guac, it's only 6.5g of sat fat. You're probably some fat fuck who likes to load it up with extra sour cream and cheese. Gross.

He's exactly right; most Mexican places suck. Lard and cheese in everything. If you have an impoverished palate then yes loads of cheese and grease tastes good. If you eat more whole foods and rely on spices to bring out flavor instead of salt and sugar, then it really is somewhat disgusting. At least Chipotle tones it down a bit.
