Rogue Soloing help.

if you do it just right you can swing behind the mob real fast and backstab it while tanking.

duoing on a rog is almost effortless and fast xp, its also really fun too. i grouped with a fungi ranger on my rog in loio and it was insane xp. or u can find a druid and they can snare/flamelick while u BS them down, necro can fear/snare while u BS them down. a fungi tank works well too. rogs are super fun to play.

everyone loves having a rogue around, even if you arent going to be on for a long time it shouldnt be hard for you to get someone to group with

As a rogue in his mid 30s it is a challenge to believe this.

Especially when there's 7 other rogues around also LFG, and groups takes the twinked/epic'd ones.

If you are used to playing a rogue in other mmorpgs (as I am), you should know that here rogues are designed in a way that they lack utility. You'll never really get any of the tricks that give rogues CC or the ability to lose aggro mid-fight like you would get in WOW.

You may want to consider either a Bard or a Monk, and both are much better soloers that are a bit cheaper to gear. Bards at lower levels melee, but have the widest variety of song types that make them extremely versatile. Monks are more a brawler style fighter, can take hits but not like a tank, but more important for you, can feign death, which is how they wipe aggro during a fight. Both classes feel rather trickster-like to me.

Yeah. I was always the same way on live. You have options at your disposal. Intimidation is your best friend if you really wanna try. You'll need jboots or sow potions to keep up with the mob. It won't work all the time and you'll be getting hit too much to make soloing efficient. Killing a mob here and there every 15 mins won't amount to anything which is why I really suggest you don't bother. I understand where you're coming from though.

hmmm well im reading the alternative is level up a necro or mage or druid to make money to twink a rogue but the alternative would be me just taking as long leveling a class that i wouldnt be needed end game. I guess i could do that i mean velious will be the end all be all on this server from what i understand so its not going anywhere but starting a new toon fresh is always a lil bit daunting. I thank you for your advice tho and ill have to sit and think about my options
