This sounds likely as the next step. You must hand in all meats to the froglok pickler? Just check with a gm first in case it is not the next step in the quest, but it makes sense to me. No meat is complete, without being pickled. That's common sense.

Troll guards do not drop troll meat, sadly. I believe the Slayers patrolling the swamp do, as well as Lockjaw, who eats all sorts of meat.

I've killed that slayer captain dozens of times and all he ever seems to drop is a necklace made of frog eyeballs

So yeah... Lockjaw is the only source of Troll Parts that I know of, and that's hit or miss. Lockjaw is like the p99 racial meat lottery.

If someone out there knows of a secret reliable stash of Troll Parts, please let us know!

I just checked Allakhazam and the first time anyone mentioned getting Troll Parts off the Slayer Captain or Troll Slayer was in 2003, so yeah I think it's not on P99's loot table for a reason.

It's not that it's not in the Troll Slayer and the Troll Raider etc's loot table, it's just that for some reason the only mob from that set of mobs that exists on P99 is the Slayer Captain which makes no sense. Me and others have spent plenty of time killing troll guards and just running around the zone for hours trying to find the slayers etc.

As I said before, why is there a Captain with no crew?

Seems that there was at one time.

Innothule Swamp - Troll Slayer. He normally roams arout the very middle of the swamp, but now he's not attacking anyone/anything. When hailed, he gave me the troll guard aggro "I shall pluck you limb from limb"-message immidiately followed by with whatever message it is troll guards generate when they've killed someone (something like "that's what you get with messing with da bashers", can't remember). But he didn't attack me (fortunately, I'm an ogre, but the message kinda startled me =p). Looked kinda bothersome when the troll just stands there next to some human-paladin npc not bothering to attend to any of their well-recorded racial tensions. I recall the troll being an insane undercon who'd whip people in their early lvl20s noprob, running amuck in the swamps killing everything at sight. Now he simply roams about, unarmed even, an utter pacifist.

-innothule-troll slayer missing levels added. he is also now the undercon he should be. faction corrected; he will now KS you properly.

That's weird, because I distinctly remembered killing the troll slayers back when I farmed up necklaces for the Forager Bag. I just checked my logs, and I recorded a total of 20 captain kills and 3 troll slayer kills. The latest was January 2014, so either it's been changed since then, the spawn is broken, or you're just unlucky. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
