not talking about the person banned, I am talking about the RMT of stuff is insane in a pure plat sense of the work but the amount of monies that has been paid for rare items in this game, and on live, is nuts.

On fennin when sleepers was being farmed by 2 or 3 guilds in heavy rotation and all content was on perma lockdown, things would be on the auction websites for hundreds of dollars.

I know that this is emu and classic eq, but people will still pay for it if they can get it no other way and greed almost always wins. Especially when they did not get it or did not have a chance to see it in their first go around on EQ back in the day when this was all new.

Two things that ruined EQ for me on live is microtransactions to win the game with exp pots legacy exp bonus and having to two or 3 box to grind aa or levels. I never RMT'ed, but I sure as hell 3 or 4 boxed out of need for certain classes on raids/exp grind. Honestly I am glad that neither are allowed here.

As for the guy/gal getting banned for having gotten something nice from a friend, it does happen. People get free stuff from friends all the time. I cannot tell you the amount of stuff I have given away over the years on Fennin. From rare loot since i had it MQ epics several fungi to several dozen old school PO Mischief cards and dolls to make the armor. Who does not want a set of shamanistic shenanigan boots amrite? best named item in the game. Free stuff does happen, but it is hard to find the truth when everyone claims it is true. Likely they will get reinstated without said items unless a chain of custody can be established from loot to loan/giveaway. like a digital fingerprint on the item of it's history of ho had it for how long.

True story.

I was given a fungi in Velius era by RL friend when I was mid 40s.

I was given a fungi in Velious era by a NON-IRL friend when I was ~50.

Sure made soloing bnb easy.

You can see why those "services" are out there. If the average user spent $30 that's $13200 made (assuming 440 bans).
$13,200 for how many man hours, website cost, extraneous costs?

This isn't a lot of money.

The fact that these RMT guys don't actually farm the plat themselves is lost on the idiots here.

They buy and sell shit in EC using RL cash/plat and then return it for a profit.

It's not like some dude farmed up $13k worth of plat and sold it he probably spent 7k of his own cash first.

Chances are they are making minimum wage for all the time they put into it unless they are platlord.

Solution: ban tunnel rats selling high.

Keep in mind that most big rmt rings are just ppl who played for years and then got bored so they sold all their shit for cash, money/time conversion is pretty irrelevant if they were leaving anyway.

What does a website cost? Not much based on the ones I've seen...and even if you can't make your own, chances are you know someone who knows someone who will do it cheap - plenty of web designers who need the work.

The people running it are buying low/selling high on the plat. That's not much for man hours, could do it alongside your job if you have one of those jobs.
