Set it free. Let him catch a ride with the wind.

:*( may his ghost linger by your side, constantly wondering why you are staring at a glowing screen

Sorry. I always accused you of boxing in oasis that one night and you told me it was shadow playing. Me, not thinking a dog could possibly play a game. I was skeptical. Now that I have seen shadow, why did you have that blind dog playing the cleric though. I ate 5 exp deaths... Future RIP to shadow.

That's a really sad reason to say goodbye to a friend you've had for the past 15 years. Either way, I sympathize. I got my dog (english springer spaniel) in 2000 and just had to put her down last year. Cancer was spreading and she'd no longer eat, no longer had the strength to get up and move by herself. We nursed her for two weeks with a liquid diet via syringe down her throat and carried her outside to let her relieve herself when we finally came to terms with the fact that she wouldn't get better, and you could see in her face that she lost the will to live.

Saying goodbye when the time came was by far the hardest thing I've ever experienced this far in life. Hope you made the right decision.

Sucks.. I had to put down my beloved orange tabby a few months ago due to some irreversible health issues that left him on death's door. You just have to remember that they lived a full, happy life during your time with them and you gave them the most love possible.

Putting down old pets sucks. We lost one this past year that passed in its sleep 2 days before we were going to put it down.

And for all the people either trolling or being crybabies because they aren't old/mature enough to have ever had pets, understand, or have to make that call... I feel bad for you.

It's a tough thing to have to do but it is often necessary as pets age. They weren't intended to live that long, and are one of the few animals who probably get to enjoy over extended life expectancies in good homes over being wild animal.

Would you be ok if someone killed you because they decided you were too old and not worth the trouble of caring for?

Please. When I am mostly blind, deaf and have growths I hope someone does it for me. Death isn't an end just a gateway to my bind point.
